The Puerto Rico Bat Conservation Program (PCMPR) is a dedicated initiative committed to safeguarding, studying, and raising awareness about the island’s bat populations. Since its inception, PCMPR has worked tirelessly to highlight the ecological importance of these winged mammals, promote science-based conservation practices, and foster appreciation for their vital role in maintaining ecosystem balance. Through field research, community outreach, and educational activities, we strive to ensure a sustainable future for the 13 bat species that contribute significantly to Puerto Rico’s biodiversity. We actively welcome volunteers to participate in our conservation efforts and provide hands-on training for those interested in learning how to handle and monitor bats safely.
